The AKS-74U is an assault rifle featured in The Last Stand: Dead Zone.

Background

A rugged and highly-compacted version of the AK-74 that was designed for Soviet special forces, paratroopers and auxiliary units; it packs the lethality of an assault rifle in a SMG-length package. Ideal for close quarters fighting, though it is often criticised for its blinding muzzle blast and high full-auto recoil.

Equipped by the Russian army and some criminal elements in Union City.

Tactics

The Last Stand: Dead Zone

While short-ranged compared to other assault rifles, it, like the CR-553, hit harder and is slightly more accurate than other assualt rifles, making it slighty more effective compared to others. However, its short range makes it more riskier to use, so support from other survivors is advised.

Recommended Gear

• Ammunition Mods increase the damage, allowing it to take down enemies faster.
• Extended Mags increase the ammo capacity, allowing it to lay down more fire before having to reload.
• Glasses increase its short range, with some variants increasing accuracy as well.
