The Last Stand: Aftermath released!
The Last Stand: Aftermath was officially released yesterday on Steam, Good Old Games, Epic Games Store, and in a series first, gaming consoles (PS4, PS5 and XBOX).
A singleplayer only action adventure roguelite, players take on the role of one of many already infected survivors, doomed to die soon one way or another. Now you have nothing left to lose, so make your last stand out in the aftermath of the apocalypse and hopefully make things easier for those who will come afterwards.
Playing The Last Stand (and other Flash games) after 2020
This was reposted from our Discord server. If you're not on Discord, why not? Join today!
As you may already know, Adobe Flash is no longer supported and most modern browsers will no longer run or play Flash content. As The Last Stand series is Flash-based, it is no longer possible to play the games in your web browser without the use of Flash emulation software. However, it is still possible to play the games using an Adobe Flash Standalone Projector.
The Adobe Flash Standalone Projector is a program that can run .swf files, which are the files that contain Flash content. It is a small and lightweight program that takes up only 15 MB of space on your computer.
Adobe has released versions of the Standalone Projector for Windows, macOS and Linux…
The Last Stand: Aftermath on Steam
After years, there's finally been sign of activity. I'll leave it to you whether I'm talking about the game or myself.
Those of you who've happened to look at Con Artist Games' Twitter page past the start of May probably already know this, but The Last Stand: Aftermath is now on Steam. Still no word on when exactly it's going to start Early Access, but they're intending to finish it in mid-2021 and release the full game in the same year. It's not free to play like the previous games, unfortunately, but it looks pretty interesting so far.
To commemorate this, I'm changing the poll (most important weapon stat) on the front page, which has run for 1.5 years now. Out of 57 votes:
- Damage, to take down zombies quickly - 34
- Range, to pick off targets f…
Events In The Dead Zone You'd Like To See
It's that time of the year, and The Dead Zone is gearing up for the Holidays. What themes would you like to see? No - I can't grant wishes, but we can all dream.
What kinds of Events and Weapons and Gear would you like to see?
Retiring from TLS:DZ
So I feel like I owe the community (or at least, what's left of it) a bit of an apology for my declining activity on the wiki. In short, I've largely lost interest in The Last Stand: Dead Zone. There just isn't any new content coming out for the game that is keeping me interested, and other things in my life have taken priority over playing the game. Already I haven't touched the game since May of this year. On top of that, all the recent shenanigans with Wikia (now rebranding to the irritable name "FANDOM"), the wiki hosting platform we are on, has made me ever more reluctant to contribute here.
That being said, I haven't completely abandoned this wiki. Although my activity has declined significantly, I still check in here at least once a d…

Testing out the HUNT-47 MKI Assault rifle in-game, first mission using the weapon. Is effective at medium to short range. High ROF, fast reloads and good damage. Ran mission to South Brookvale, the Large Hardware Store located there.
URL change to "fandom.com"—what this means for us
You may have seen this banner appearing around the wiki:
This is because our landlords (FANDOM, formerly known as Wikia) have begin moving domain names of wikis from "wikia.com" to "fandom.com". I just tested and "tlaststand.wikia.com" properly redirects to "thelaststand.fandom.com", our current address, so you should not have to worry about old links breaking (yet; I don't trust FANDOM).
We're still going to be that encyclopedia of knowledge that you've come to know and depend on for years now, and we have absolutely no plans on deviating from that. We will always have the articles and the wealth of knowledge available to you, and we're still the wiki looking for new editors to be bold and help us improve our articles. That isn't going away…
Wiki URL changed to "thelaststand.wikia.com"
You may have noticed that the wiki's URL was mysteriously changed from 'tlaststand.wikia.com
' to 'thelaststand.wikia.com
'. To clarify, I did not orchestrate this change. The change happened around November 30, and was done without any notification or prior consultation of the community here. When I discovered that the URL had changed, I immediately emailed Staff demanding an explanation. Today I got a response from Rappy:
First off, thank you for the response, Rappy, and for the apology. This cools a lot of flames within me. Secondly, I hope that there will be no repeat of this debacle and that changes to the wiki by Staff must always be done with the consensus of the wiki community, which in turn necessitates notification and communication o…

Discord — Your Z-Mas Present This Year
Merry Z-Mas, survivors!
You may have noticed that the wiki's been a little quiet recently. There aren't as many editors around as there used to be, but our wiki readership has remained at a fairly stable ~2.5K views per day.
This year, I've decided to try to cater to those 2,500 people by creating a Discord server for The Last Stand Wiki! For those who are not aware, Discord is a free Internet communication software that rivals Skype and TeamSpeak, but is more tailored towards gamers. Discord offers both text-based chat and voice-based chat, which allows people to talk to each other over the Internet in real time. Discord is very simple to use, and you can access it right from your web browser or their standalone apps for Windows, macOS, Andr…
Undead Blitz update out now!
It has certainly been a while since I last posted a news blog here on this wiki. Note that we do have a Twitter account where updates are more frequent. Follow us at @LastStandWiki if you haven't already!
Anyways, Con and his cronies have blessed us with yet another update, just in time for Halloween! This time, we're up to something new. Looks like Con's been in a World War II mood recently (Or perhaps we're now receiving the carcass of Warfare Online... who knows?)!
)]]
- 1 From the press...
- 2 New update, new stuff!
- 2.1 New weapons!
- 2.2 New gear!
- 2.3 New clothing and accessories!

- 3 What this means for us (including you!)
The Undead Blitz update is out, and more's going to come! For now, here's an incomplete list of w…
Wiki Activity Stats Now Public
It's May 2, 2017. My birthday! Happy birthday to.... me, I guess?
Well, as a birthday present, I have decided to unveil a project I've been working on since February.
Wikia records the total number of views, edits made, and photos that are uploaded to a wiki and makes it visible in the admin dashboard for up to 7 days. This information is not normally public, and is deleted after a week.
Recently I've been recording the numbers in the dashboard to a Google Sheets file, and I think I have enough information recorded to share it to the public.
If you're interested in seeing the number of views made to the wiki every single day, you can view the spreadsheet here. Note that the viewcount information is approximate, since Wikia doesn't show me the e…
The Last Stand: Dead Zone Roadmap 2017
Con Artist Games has finally released the Roadmap for The Last Stand: Dead Zone. The team has been busy with Warfare Online recently, but (Thankfully!) they have not forgotten about the Dead Zone.
- 1 5 Years in the Dead Zone
- 2 Tactics Manuals
- 3 New HERC Developments
- 4 Late Game Levelling System
- 5 High Activity Zones
- 6 Suburb Changes
- 7 Event Updates
- 8 ...and
- 9 References
While the 5th anniversary celebrations seem to have concluded, Con Artist Games have said that they plan on celebrating throughout the year. Not sure if there will be stuff in-game for us, or if it's just an office party that none of us are invited to. (And if it's the latter, can they at least make "Cake" a scavengeable food item?)
Knowledge is power in the Dead Zone, and it seems Con is openin…
5th Anniversary image dump
The purpose of these "image dumps" is to dump a bunch of screenshots taken from inside the game relating to content that hasn't been mentioned on the wiki yet. A picture is worth a million words, and since the information is already in these pictures anyways, the idea is to save editors from having to look in-game for the information themselves. Just open up the images below and then translate the information into legible text for the articles on the wiki.

2016 End of Year Reflection
satisfied what was laid out on the roadmap? (click to enlarge)]]
2016 has been a hectic year, no doubt. There were some ups, but a lot of downs, and I don't think I really need to list off some of the more obvious examples. What I do want to mention, however, is how poverty and misery still grips our world. I think we as humans can do better.
Anyways, this blog post will focus on what has happened on this wiki and in-game. It is far from being complete, but I do want to list off some of what we have done this year:
- Unlock and explore Waterside and Green Plains, as well as Suburban Blocks, Forests, and Shopping Strips.
- Unlock the Stadium and use it to host the Terror Dome competition.
- Create an FAQ page (That had been sitting in my userspace since Ma…

"Fandom powered by Wikia"? Here's what you need to know
Wikia is now rebranding itself from plain old "Wikia" to "Fandom powered by Wikia". The clunky new name comes after Wikia supposedly is changing its business practice from being a wiki-farm hosting wikis that house boatloads of information to being a fansite where fans of all ages get together and, well, be fans.
An overwhelming number of users have spoken out against this, particularly among the older and more experienced group; those who have been with Wikia for years now. People have long since expressed disapproval of or even resisted Wikia's recent corporate transition to "fandom", creating so-called features intended to boost community unity and shepherd in new users, such as the infamous Discussions extension. What has happened, thro…
So... the thing about the News...
For the past two years or so I've kept a weekly news blog going on the wiki. From the very first edition to the latest one so far, the format has generally changed little, talking about new additions to the game, latest wiki news, occasionally some other news, and the wiki's front page poll. All weekly news blogs are listed at Category:Weekly news, and so far 113 editions have been released.
When the blog was young, the wiki was undergoing a pretty significant growth spurt, with lots of activity and editors and edits coming in around the clock. Many articles were being created, many more were being improved, and the wiki's community was thriving. Sure, the forums were quieter than I would've liked, but at least people were using them.
Sadly,…
