The whole ink section is missing.
A pen is a writing tool that applies ink to a surface, which is usually paper. Pens come in all shapes and sizes, and in many different colors. But pens are quite fragile, and it's not surprising to find pens with their insides falling out, or half the pen being unscrewed. Pens can usually be repaired, but most don't bother with handling small parts, and since pens are cheap and fairly easy to replace, most broken pens go straight to the garbage.
Working pens are sold in stationery stores and are commonly used in offices and schools.
