Description[edit | edit source]
Mechanical component used for construction of EXO items.
Background[edit | edit source]
A piston engine, also known as a reciprocating engine, is an engine that works by converting energy, or pressure, into rotating motion by pushing a piston, which in turn rotates a crankshaft and generates power. The movement of the piston is called a stroke. Piston engines are categorized by the number of strokes required to complete one power cycle, as well as the speed of the crankshaft (calculated in revolutions per minute, or RPM).
Formerly used in steam engines and mainly used in internal combustion engines.
