It is said that Jujutsu, an ancient Japanese martial art, adheres to the philosophy of yielding to an opponent's force rather than trying to fight fire with fire. This martial art was born as means to defeat armored opponents with short weapons — or none at all — and usually involves sophisticated grappling techniques that are mastered with skill rather than one's own strength. Jujutsu has since evolved into other martial arts, such as Brazilian jiu-jitsu and judo, but the principle remains the same.
