Description[edit | edit source]
Front end handle from a shotgun.
Background[edit | edit source]
The fore-end of a stock serves a vital purpose in rifles and shotguns. They provide a forward grip for the user to steady the weapon when aiming and shooting, and makes it easier to carry. In pump-action shotguns, the fore-end also houses the pump-action bolt, which allows the user to discard empty cartridges to make room for a fresh one.
Found in all pump-action shotguns and rifles.
