The Large Motel is a type of location that can be searched in The Last Stand: Dead Zone.

Description[]

A large motel, used as a camp for some time.

Background[]

Motels provided lodging, food, and relaxation for motorists on the move. Motels differ from hotels, which typically prefer the urban landscape and often house tourists for longer periods of time. Motels gained popularity during the urban sprawl and automobile-boom of the 1950s, where 50,000 motels lined the interstates and highways of the United States. The zombie outbreak has sent many survivors traveling from city to city looking for a safer place, giving motels the role they used to play during better times.

Possible finds[]

Level calculation[]

The level of a Large Motel is always 2 levels higher than the area it is in.

Tactics[]

Motels are medium-sized maps that utilize the interior and exterior of a building. Due to its moderate size, players should bring medium-ranged weapons. However, the interior of the motel is quite tight, so one or two CQC[n 1] weapons should be brought along. Bringing four or five survivors is recommended due to the size of the map.

Wait and kill the initial zombie horde before beginning to scavenge containers. Due to the quantity of zombies on the map, keeping survivors together is advisable. As the individual motel rooms generally do not have zombie spawns, scavengers are safe inside provided that combat-focused survivors are stationed by the entrance.

Trivia[]

  • The Large Motel is identical to the Motel in size, layout, and appearance. The only difference is the level calculation: Large variants are +2 the area they are in, while the normal variants are only +1.

Notes[]
