A field kit for testing the acidity of food and water.
pH is a scale used to determine the acidity or alkalinity of compounds. Pure water is used as the "center point" for pH scales; substances with higher acidity are called acids, while substances with higher alkalinity are called bases. pH testing kits measure the acidity and alkalinity of substances, and are frequently used to measure the pH of soil, the acidity of canned foods, and to determine if water is safe for human use.
Found in labs ranging from simple high school chemistry labs to advanced research labs run by HERC.
