They can't read without a text-to-speech program, can't walk without a seeing dog, and have a tough time finding objects around their home. This book was written to assist in their daily lives, providing many useful tips on how to get around the house without the help of a dog or human assistant. Some suggestions include walking with your arms in front of you, touching objects carefully to identify them, and tumbling down stairs to get to the bottom floor.
Electronic versions (to be read by a screen reader) and copies written in Braille have been made to allow visually impaired people to read this book.
