It can only be obtained through skilled/lucky finds in containers, or through lucky drops from zombies; a high Luck and a high Searching will assist in finding one.
Tactics[]
A highly effective melee weapon, the Shovel is a good choice of a weapon for the middle and even late parts of the game. All of its other stats are above average, though it can be very difficult to obtain in a good condition.
