Tasks are a feature available in The Last Stand: Dead Zone. They provide storyline (not yet implemented) and optional objectives for the player to accomplish, and rewards them with XP and occasionally items upon completion. The rewards are not automatically given, instead, the player must collect them from the Objectives menu.

Welcome To The Dead Zone

  • Description: Completed your introduction to the Dead Zone.
  • Requirements: Complete Tutorial
  • Rewards: +50 XP

Attract A Survivor

Gear Up

  • Description: It would help if our survivors were better equipped to deal with the infected. Search for gear out there.
  • Requirements: Gear 3/3
  • Rewards: +100 XP

Resource Run

  • Description: With all this construction, we're going to need more building resources. Go to one of the nearby Hardware Stores and raid it for supplies.
  • Requirements: Hardware Stores Explored 1/1
  • Rewards: +100 XP

Weapon Run

  • Description: We should stock up on weapons, with more survivors coming in we'll need to have the right tools for the job at hand.
  • Requirements: Weapons 10/10
  • Rewards: +100 XP

Recycle

  • Description: We can get useful resources out of any item you find, we just need to recycle them.
  • Requirements: Items Recycled 3/3
  • Rewards: +50 XP

Collecting

  • Description: Gather from your resource buildings regularly to keep your supplies up.
  • Requirements: Collect Resources 3/3
  • Rewards: +75 XP

More The Merrier

  • Description: Some extra help around the compound would be useful. We should see if we can attract another survivor to the compound, check the Compound Progress Report.
  • Requirements: Survivors 4/4
  • Rewards: +200 XP

Entering South Trenton

  • Description: It's now safe enough for us to move into Trenton, explore the area and see what we can find.
  • Requirements: Stores Explored 2/2, Warehouses Explore 2/2, Supermarket Explored 1/1
  • Rewards: +500 XP

Combat

Run A Mission

  • Description: We need to get out and find more resources, more weapons. Complete another mission. Go to the map to start one.
  • Requirements: Missions Completed 2/2
  • Rewards: +50 XP

Raise Morale

  • Description: Nothing raises morale like getting into a scrap. Run some successful missions with your survivors to raise their morale.
  • Requirements: Total Missions Completed 7/7
  • Rewards: Level 3 Rusty Action Tauron 9mm, +75 XP

Thinning The Herd

  • Description: Clearing out some of the infected in South Trenton should make it easier for us to move east.
  • Requirements: Infected Kills 300/300
  • Rewards: +1,000 XP

Security Breach

Street Sweeper

  • Description: There's a large office building that might have some useful supplies in it. Clear the street in front of it, hopefully it'll make the area safer.
  • Requirements: Infected Kills 50/50
  • Rewards: +1,300 XP

Target Practice: Infected Scientists

  • Description: There's no way we'll know if these HERC scientist suits make them harder to put down without trying. Kill infected scientists in Riverside.
  • Requirements: Infected Scientist Kills 30/30
  • Rewards: +500 XP

Target Practice: Heavies

  • Description: These heavy set infected are dangerous, we need to figure out a way to take them out effectively. Kill as many as you can around the Stadium.
  • Requirements: Fat Infected Kills 50/50
  • Rewards: +600 XP

Target Practice: Runners

  • Description: Moving targets definitely take some practice to hit consistantly. These 'runners' provide just what we need. Kill runner infected in Riverside.
  • Requirements: Infected Runner Kills 30/30
  • Rewards: +500 XP

Target Practice: Runners (2)

  • Description: Can never have enough moving target practice. Kill some runners in Northwood.
  • Requirements: Infected Runner Kills 50/50
  • Rewards: +600 XP

Gun Store Access

  • Description: There's a gun store here in Trenton Park that should have what we need, clear the street in front of it of infected.
  • Requirements: Kills On Street 100/100
  • Rewards: +750 XP

Riverside Runners

  • Description: These runners are getting more powerful, we need more practice in taking them down.
  • Requirements: Infected Runner Kills 60/60
  • Rewards: +750 XP

Target Practice: Police

  • Description: These former members of the police department are armored up pretty heavily. Take a bunch of them down, see if you can learn anything.
  • Requirements: Infected Police Kills 70/70
  • Rewards: +1,100 XP

Clean Up

  • Description: Surely the new survivors in your group need some practice, take them out for some.
  • Requirements: Infected Kills 100/100
  • Rewards: +650 XP

Target Practice: Dogs

  • Description: Fastest moving targets we've come up against. These mongrel beasts are most dangerous in packs. Practice hitting them around Stadium.
  • Requirements: Infected Dog Kills 50/50
  • Rewards: +650 XP

Clear Waters

  • Description: Make a mark here by clearing out as many infected as you can. This might be our only way across the river.
  • Requirements: Infected Kills 200/200
  • Rewards: +750 XP

Explore A Supermarket

  • Description: There's plenty of supermarkets in the area, hopefully there's some food and water left behind. Explore a supermarket.
  • Requirements: Supermarkets Explored 1/1
  • Rewards: +25 XP

Supply Run

Hitting The Streets

  • Description: The remnants of military blockades in the streets make them a good spot to find weapons. You should explore some of the streets around Riverside.
  • Requirements: Streets Explored 2/2
  • Rewards: +75 XP
  • Note: The requirements can be fulfilled by exploring both Small Street & Street.

Ivan The Trader

  • Description: A stocky Russian man approaches the compound, he claims to be a trader. He's offering equipment for some food and water.
  • Requirements: Food 25/25, Water 25/25
  • Rewards: Level 5 Long Barrel Shotgun, Level 5 Tight Cloth Hand Wrap, +150 XP

Ivan Returns

  • Description: The Trader returns to your compound, looking content with the food you gave him. He says he wants radio parts this time around, can't think what for.
  • Requirements: Broken Radio 1/1, Wire 1/1
  • Rewards: Level 6 Heavy Sharpened Machete, +200 XP

Ivan's Back Again

  • Description: The trader wants to build something, he's not saying what he just needs the materials.
  • Requirements: Wood 200/200, Pipe 3/3, Rope 2/2
  • Rewards: Level 6 New Training Shoes, +200 XP

Ivan The Builder

  • Description: Ivan drops by and mentions he's envious of your generator. He's looking for parts for a windmill to power the place he is holed up in.
  • Requirements: Metal 300/300, Wood 150/150, Metal Cable 4/4
  • Rewards: Level 10 Long Barrel AR556-SEMI, +500 XP

Ivan's Electronics

  • Description: The Russian is back again, looking for electronic scrap and some metal. He says there's an office in Riverside Waters you should check for the parts he wants.
  • Requirements: Metal 200/200, Electronic Scrap 5/5, Offices Explored 1/1
  • Rewards: Level 12 Civilian Armored Vest, +700 XP
  • Note: The requirements can only be fulfilled by exploring the Small Office in Riverside Waters.

Craft Supplies

  • Description: There's some heavy industry in South Trenton, we should check out the Small Warehouses in the district for crafting and building supplies.
  • Requirements: Warehouses Explored 3/3, Crafting Found 15/15, Resources Found 100/100
  • Rewards: +1,250 XP
  • Note: The requirements can only be fulfilled by exploring Small Warehouses in South Trenton.

Gun Grab

  • Description: We've spotted a few spots that are likely to have good weapons stockpiles. We need to stock up before we go any further.
  • Requirements: Security Explored 1/1, Gun Stores Explored 1/1, Weapons Found 5/5
  • Rewards: +1,250 XP

Office Space

  • Description: With the street cleared, head into the office building to see what you can find.
  • Requirements: Resources From Offices 50/50, Junk From Offices 15/15
  • Rewards: +1,350 XP
  • Note: The requirements can only be fulfilled by exploring the Large Office at South Trenton.

Hospital Visit

  • Description: The Riverside hospital is nearby and should be a good source of medical gear. A lot of people ended up there just after the outbreak.
  • Requirements: Gear Found In Riverside Hospital 2/2
  • Rewards: +750 XP

Window Shopping

  • Description: Riverside has a large amount of stores of different types. They're bound to have the supplies we need.
  • Requirements: Store Explored 1/1, Gun Store Explored 1/1, Department Store Explored 1/1
  • Rewards: +1,000 XP

Military Grade

  • Description: The streets and security buildings around Stadium should yield some higher grade weapons than we're used to. Search them and see what you can find.
  • Requirements: Streets Explored 1/1, Security Explored 1/1, Weapons Found 10/10
  • Rewards: +500 XP

Warehousin'

  • Description: Northwood is heavily industrial. The warehouses here should keep us in building materials for a long time.
  • Requirements: Warehouses Explored 1/1, Resources Found 200/200
  • Rewards: +500 XP
  • The requirements can be fulfilled by exploring both Warehouse & Small Warehouse at Northwood.

Building Resources

More Warehouses

  • Description: As always, our best bet for resources are these warehouses, head in and gather materials and any junk you can find.
  • Requirements: Warehouses Explored 1/1, Resources Found 150/150, Junk Found 10/10
  • Rewards: +1,000 XP
  • The requirements can only be fulfilled by exploring Warehouse at Riverside Waters.

The Hills

  • Description: Big houses here in Riverside Heights, ripe for the picking. Should turn out some good quality gear for us.
  • Requirements: Residences Explored 5/5, Gear Found 10/10
  • Rewards: +1,000 XP
  • The requirements can be fulfilled by exploring both Residence & Large Residence.

Resident Resource

  • Description: This area is heavily industrial. The warehouses here should keep us in building materials for a long time.
  • Requirements: Residences Explored 4/4, Resources Found 200/200
  • Rewards: +550 XP
  • Note: This task is suspected to be bugged. This Northwood task has a description similiar to Warehousin' and its description and requirements are mismatched. Furthermore, It is immediately available and completed at the same time Warehousin' is completed.

To The Streets

  • Description: The streets are much larger in Riverside, some of them have military blockades which might have quality weapons. Clear them out.
  • Requirements: Streets Explored 3/3, Infected Kills 100/100
  • Rewards: +1,000 XP
  • The requirements can be fulfilled by exploring both Street and Small Street at Riverside.

Playing House

  • Description: Plenty of abandoned houses around here. Makes sense, most people were herded up and brought to the stadium after the outbreak. Search them for resources.
  • Requirements: Residences Explored 4/4, Resources Found 200/200
  • Rewards: +550 XP
  • The requirements can be fulfilled by exploring either Residence or Large Residence at Stadium.

Supply Drop

  • Description: The Riverside Waters hospital was far away enough from the initial outbreak that it missed the chaos. There's probably still food and water supply there, check it out.
  • Requirements: Hospital Explored 1/1, Resources Found 50/50, Infected Kills 30/30
  • Rewards: +1,100 XP

Lock Up

  • Description: The Police Station in Riverside is abandoned, I'm sure it's been picked over already but there should be some weapons there still.
  • Requirements: Weapons Found In Police Station 3/3
  • Rewards: +750 XP

Gun Runner

  • Description: Explore the Gun Store in Trenton Park and bring back as many weapons as you can.
  • Requirements: Gun Stores Explored 1/1, Weapons Found 5/5
  • Rewards: +500 XP

Clearance Sale

  • Description: The stores in Riverside Heights seem to be as rich and bountiful as the surrounding neighbors, explore and clear them out.
  • Requirements: Stores Explored 3/3, Infected Kills 100/100
  • Rewards: +1,150 XP

  • Description: We're going to need somewhere to rest eventually. Make the place more comfortable by building more beds.

  • Description: We can improve the capabilities of our buildings by upgrading them, sure it takes some time but it's worth it in the end.

Build It Bigger

Keeping Clean

  • Description: Besides it being comforting, washing should help us stay healthier. Build a shower station.
  • Requirements: Shower 1/1

The Recycler

  • Description: We've got plans for a contraption that should make it possible to recycle objects while you're away. Build the Recycler
  • Requirements: Recycler 1/1
  • Rewards: +75 XP

  • Description: We may be able to draw some small amounts of power from the wind. Build a windmill somewhere around the compound.
