You may have noticed that the wiki's URL was mysteriously changed from '' to ''. To clarify, I did not orchestrate this change. The change happened around November 30, and was done without any notification or prior consultation of the community here. When I discovered that the URL had changed, I immediately emailed Staff demanding an explanation. Today I got a response from Rappy:

Response from Rappy regarding URL change

First off, thank you for the response, Rappy, and for the apology. This cools a lot of flames within me. Secondly, I hope that there will be no repeat of this debacle and that changes to the wiki by Staff must always be done with the consensus of the wiki community, which in turn necessitates notification and communication of the change. Thirdly, I want to open the discussion up to the community as to whether or not the URL change should be retained.

All old links to '' will continue to work and will redirect to the new address; the primary reason why I emailed Staff in the first place was that this was a complete and utter breach of the consensus-based nature of many communities. I know a lot of people will roll their eyes at this, knowing that unfortunately implementing unwanted changes without community consultation or consensus has become the norm for Staff these days, but as a long time editor of Wikia this comes as a complete shock and a severe damage of trust.

Are you supportive of this change? Do you have any objections and/or arguments against this URL change? Please leave them in the comments below. (I would post this in the Watercooler but with things being so slow these days I don't think I'd get a response)
