Vest DZ

A Vest (TLS:DZ)

The Vest is a type of gear featured in The Last Stand: Dead Zone.

Description

Protective chest wear to guard against melee and projectiles.

Background

The latest in personal body armor, these vests are typically used by SWAT teams and military forces to increase the chances of their personnel's survival. Capable of resisting guns and melee weapons with equal effectiveness, its wearer is far more likely to live to fight another day.

Effect

Increases total health by a percentage, depending on the Vest's level.

Variants may alter movement speed or reload speed by a percentage.

How to Obtain

  • It can be scavenged during Level 11+ missions.
  • A unique Protective version can be purchased for 150 Fuel in the Fuel Trading Post.
  • May be craftable later on.

Available Conditions

  • Heavy, which increases health by 15% and decreases movement speed by 15%.
  • Rigid, which increases health by 5%.
  • Light, which increases health by 10%.
  • Tactical, which increases reload speed and health by 10%.
  • Civilian Armored, which increases health by 10%.
  • Police Armored, which increases health by 15%.
  • Military Armored, which increases health by 25%.
  • Protective, which increases health by 10%.
  • Damaged, which decreases health by 2.5%.
  • Ruined, which decreases health by 4%.

Tactics

Any class will benefit from this piece of gear, but it is best used to bulk up a survivor wielding a short ranged projectile weapon like handguns or shotguns, or a melee weapon, ensuring they have enough health to soak up any hits the zombies might get in before they are sent back to their graves.

It can also be put to good use in improving the performance of low-health classes such as the Recon. Equipping them with a vest improves their chances of exiting a mission on their feet, rather than on their backs.
