Vest DZ

A Vest (TLS:DZ)

For the Kevlar Vest in The Last Stand Union City, see Kevlar Vest - Police, Kevlar Vest - Army, and Kevlar Vest - HERC.

The Vest is a type of passive gear featured in The Last Stand: Dead Zone.

Description

Protective chest wear to guard against melee and projectiles.

Background

The latest in personal body armor is typically fielded by police and military forces to increase the survivability of their personnel. Designed to resist high-velocity projectiles and melee weapons with varying degrees of effectiveness, any wearers are more likely to live and fight another day.

Effect

Increases total health by a percentage, depending on the Vest's level.

Variants may alter movement speed or reload speed by a percentage. Subtypes may have additional effects.

Tactics

Any class will benefit from this piece of gear, but it is best used to bulk up a survivor wielding a short ranged projectile weapon like handguns or shotguns, or a melee weapon, ensuring they have enough health to soak up any hits the zombies might get in before they are sent back to their graves.

It can also be put to good use in improving the performance of low-health classes, namely the Recon and Medic. Equipping them with a vest improves their chances of exiting a mission on their feet, rather than on their backs.

Finally, it may be effective to give your survivors vests that improve health and/or damage resistance(s) when raiding, as the defending survivors have the advantage of having watchtowers and barricades to shoot out from. Your survivors can take more bullets and are more likely to survive traps, reducing the chance that they'll be injured and/or incapacitated.
